BIO

Yori Dade is a musician invested in Performance, Composition and Music Technologies. Yori is a candidate in the Bachelor of Music course at the Queensland Conservatorium where he studies jazz performance under James Sandon, Steve Newcomb and Zac Hurren.Throughout his jazz studies, Yori has accumulated a wide spectrum of experience, performing with a number of bands, orchestras and ensembles. Recent highlights include current engagements The New Orleans band,  Crescent City Players and the funk band PocketLove. In his jazz saxophone quartet, Belephwants, Yori performs Baritone saxophone and writes original arrangements for the ensemble.

 

Also a dedicated music educator, Yori enjoys teaching students of all ages about music theory and technology, jazz and classical performance and wind doubling.

 

In 2012 Yori was the youngest recipient for the Helen Abernathy award for outstanding achievement in music. In 2013 he won the woodwind championship at the Toowoomba Eisteddfod and  In 2014 Yori performed at the Sax Arts Festival in Italy.

 

In his spare time Yori enjoys cooking, he loves spicy food and the sweet tones of Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings.
